TransData uses extensions just as the core game does, so any new items you've created in a mod will show up in the appropriate tables. TransData is particularly useful for modders, who need both table outputs and simulations. Schwab, who was born in Ravensburg, Germany, in 1938 during the Nazi era, has been the target of multiple conspiracy theorists, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Schwab’s flexible approach lets you choose the file and delivery methods that work best for your technology and workflow. For example, TransData can simulate a game session and output the number of Phobos dreadnought spawned in a game. I use it a lot to output tables of game elements (such as weapon types) but I also use it to simulate entire game sessions. TransData can crack open the game definitions (stored in XML and TDB files) and output them in various human-readable formats.īecause TransData has a full version of the game engine, it can serve many functions. TransData is a command-line version of the Transcendence game engine. Instead of keeping a separate design document, why not just output weapon properties straight out of the game itself?Īnd that's how TransData was born. The solution, of course, was obvious: the weapon definitions are stored in the game itself. And once the design document was out of date, it was useless to me. At first I just kept the design document up to date, but eventually the system fell apart. The Charles Schwab Corporation provides a full range of brokerage, banking and financial advisory services through its operating subsidiaries. Whenever I needed to design a new ship I just consulted the design document and picked an appropriate weapon.Īnd then I added more weapon types. A long time ago, when Transcendence was a tiny game with only a dozen weapon types, I kept a design document describing each weapon and its properties.

You might see what the other 1000D owners say here ( ) Weigl show control hardware allows control through Mac OS X, a variety of entertainment control technologies ranging from analog and digital animation through full digital motor control, and DMX lighting. I would think there is a better way to do this with a Commander Pro + PWM fan hub/repeaters + cheap LN Pros for extra lighting channels for water cooling and third party devices. There isn't a gain here, so you only start doing this if there is a problem with a device. But this is $200 of shifting jobs with no real benefit. You drop 2 temp probes per device (probably not a loss for most users). You would need three to cover the 18 fans. However, I am not sure if that is helpful or not in a 1000D with that number of fans. In theory the Commander XT can replace all the RGB hubs. For a lot of users that makes it inferior to a powered USB hub and a non-starter for AMD board owners who can's use USB splitters at all. ![]() ![]() The USB passthroughs are passive and all lead back to the MB, not true device to device communication. The Commander Pros don't really daisy chain. ![]() you and Tim had left Vanilla Fudge and you were going to work with Jeff Beck, and that didn’t work out, so. I want to talk about leading up to that gig. When I was listening I just ‘wow I can’t believe it!’ It’s the “One Way Or Another” riff that started it and then we’d go off jamming on it. And I think the first song we played titled “One Way Or Another” wasn’t really “One Way Or Another” yet, that became a song on the 2nd album, but it was always a cool jam, so they just titled it “One Way Or Another” because that’s what the song ended up being. That was the full show, we only had like a 40 minute set. Was that everything, was that the full show that’s on the record? And if you look at it that it’s a collectable classic, and not a polished – ‘go in and re-do…you know like when you do a live album, like BBA – Beck Bogert Appice, we had a live album from 1974 coming out, and we had the 24 track and we went in and fixed the vocal, and a couple of things that needed to be fixed, but with this we didn’t have the opportunity to do that – what you hear is what you got. ![]() It doesn’t have to be unbelievable sound, but you can actually hear everything that’s going on. And they remastered it and it actually don’t sound too bad. … I was 24 years old at that point, and I was just a fireball, ya know… “Parchman Farm” on our record was pretty fast, and this one is faster than that. It was kind of really a cool gig, and we hung out backstage with Jimi. And it was at a small stadium called Temple Stadium, in Philadelphia, and Jimi Hendrix was the headliner and we were all friends with Jimi, and Grateful Dead – we knew them, and Steve Miller, and you gotta remember The Grateful Dead and Steve Miller weren’t big yet, so the only one that was sort of big was Jimi Hendrix, and even he wasn’t the icon he is today. Ya know, it’s our first gig, but the energy’s flying off that performance like crazy. so he finds collectables, and he found that, I guess on a cassette tape that somebody had and he said that he could get that released on Cleopatra, because he said they were interested….So I listened to it initially, and I said ‘wow, the energy on that record is unbelievable’. He’s not only our manager, but he’s also a really big Cactus fan. Well, basically what it was our manager found that somewhere, I don’t know where the heck he found it. I’m sure my conversation does not cover all that he has on the go, so check out the links below. He’s also working on a number of new projects. This is a quicker workflow if we need to very quickly analyse a new genre or artist. ![]() iZotope Tonal Balance allows you to create target EQ ranges by importing a folder of ‘perfect’ tracks you want to aim at. We use iZotope Ozone 5 because you can save and import EQ snapshots (the tonal balance measurements) - somewhat strangely they removed the ability to save snapshots in the more recent versions of Ozone. There’s a bit of nuance and experience in determining where in a genre’s ‘acceptable tonal balance range’ is best (is it better to err on the side of brighter or darker, does it need to be perfectly flat or just nearly flat, etc.), but you can get 95% of the way there very quickly and easily - simply, analyse and measure. Measuring is easy and takes all the guesswork out of it. You can use tools like iZotope Ozone and iZotope Tonal Balance (other software exists) to measure the EQ/tonal balance of successful tracks in your genre, to determine the perfect balance, and then adjust your track accordingly. With the right tools, and some time, 2) is pretty easy. Luckily, solving 2) achieves 1), as genres trend towards what works best in the highest number of relevant playback situations. The need for 2) is simple - it will sound jarring and incorrect if your track is balanced differently to most other tracks in that genre. There’s no perfect balance of frequencies (called ‘tonal balance’) that sounds perfect everywhere - it will always be a compromise. Or maybe you mixed the track with headphones, and then realised it sounds too bright and harsh in the club. You’ll have seen the need for 1) after creating a track in the studio, and then listening in the car - maybe it was perfect in the studio, but sounds too bass heavy in the car. Mastering EQ does two things: 1) it balances the frequencies such that the track sounds as good as possible on as many speakers as possible, and 2) it balances the frequencies such that the track sounds similar to other tracks in that genre. ![]() ![]() net 1.0 beta days, you can imagine I am pretty comfortable in a static languages and while that is fine most of the time the trend is for more apps to run in the browser. A new JavaScript superset which adds static typing annotations as well as language support for classes and modules to the JavaScript language. Basically now, we have a better shot of picking up on that problem at build time.Last week Microsoft announced TypeScript. In our case for the RGB staff, we might use a never in a situation where you're passing in like a string that is neither of size 3 or size 6. So you wanna, it's for scenarios you're deliberately trying to avoid. It is the compile time you think of it that way. And so this function is gonna return a never and you're trying to capture the result, and that's gonna be a never. I expect that you're gonna end up with a never here. Where if somehow you have a function that in some situation returns a never, now as the compiler is analyzing your code, it's gonna say, well okay based on the argument types that are passed in. You can almost think of it like a throw except for the typescript compiler. But just think of it as something you would want in potentially unreachable sections of code. You might ask, why would you do this? We'll dig into it a little bit tomorrow as we talk about types in a deeper way. > Mike North: This is not, nothing can be assignable to a never. > Mike North: So if we had something like this, The opposite of the any type is a never type. And then, you would try to purge explicit any's from your code base, and end up with things having a well defined type instead of sort of the catchall. And you'd go through and say, okay, well where we really wanna be flexible, we will have explicit any's, or we'll give it a type, a proper type. So then, you would at some point, forbid implicit any's. ![]() I can't figure it out, I don't have enough information in order to make a call here. And you return a + b, those could be strings, those could be numbers, I don't know. Right, where it's gonna go through your code and it's gonna say, all right, this is a function that takes two arguments, and it's a and b. You would end up with a lot of implicit any's. You would say anything goes, we're just gonna change this JS file to TS. Typically what you do is, say we have a JavaScript piece of code and we're converting it to TypeScript. And as you tighten things up, you can sort of make that constraint more accurate and more tightened up to what you actually expect the range of those values to be. It'll just give it the any type and it'll allow things to play out from there. Where it can't infer the type of a variable. ![]() This is a big part of how it's able to do that. And I talked about how you could have typescript to kind of chew on regular JavaScript code and make sense of it, and give you some information. This is the way a non typescript world treats things like any variable that's defined with let. The way you can think of this is, you're back to regular JavaScript. We can give it values of whatever we want. And then we have myAge, and we say age as any. Anything could be assigned to a variable that is of the any type. And think of this as a wild card type, right. > Mike North: So let me add one more interesting thing here before we jump in to our next exercise. The most disappointing design element of the Philips 27B1U7903 is the buttons on the back used for navigating the menus. That thickness houses all of the mini-LED goodness and the important thermals to keep everything cool, so there is a reason behind the chonk, but it is not a sleek, thin desktop monitor some of you might be used to.Īnother tiny annoyance I have is the way the fan coughs briefly every time you flip the power switch on the monitor, but that’s definitely getting into nitpicking territory. It’s nearly 7cm thick, or 2.68 inches to be precise. There are a couple of bits about the Philips 27B1U7903 that I don’t like. It’s a better monitor than my best monitor, and a better dock than my best dock. It puts my $400-ish Samsung 4K display to shame in pure image performance alone. The quality of this display is truly a masterpiece, I’m completely blown away by it. Philips says this’ll save you 80% in power consumption, reducing your energy bills and improving longevity. One incredibly nifty feature the Philips 27B1U7903 also has is an infrared “PowerSensor” that can detect when you’re sitting in front of it and automatically reduce the brightness. Even just watching the Avatar: Way of Water trailer in 4K HDR was a mind-blowing experience. Peak brightness tops out at DisplayHDR 1400, which means watching movies and playing games (in 60Hz only) will look fabulous. I was blown away by the level of color and detail when using Pixelmator Pro, for example, seeing levels of all three that I had never noticed on my MacBook Pro’s Retina display. It has four times as many dimming zones as your standard mini-LED, which means brightness, contrast, and detail across the board are absolutely sublime. I absolutely love the anti-glare, matte finish of the display which really adds a premium touch to the display quality, as well as making it easier to view in direct light. ![]() I’m not sure what more you expected, really. The Philips 27B1U7903 has a 4K mini-LED display that looks incredible. This would, of course, also work with something like the Mac Studio, but the power delivery is nice for portable machines. Thanks to USB4’s huge bandwidth, you can daisy chain multiple displays from a single port on your laptop, plugging in a second display to the Philips 27B1U7903, all while charging it. All you need is one USB-C cable to connect your Mac and you have power and ports at your disposal, which makes enjoying that display quality that much sweeter. As such, the Philips 27B1U7903 can help you eliminate desk clutter by eliminating the need for a docking station. My only gripe with the ports is that they’re all downward, rather than outward-facing, but this is a small price to pay and I assume there’s a good design reason behind this. ![]() ![]() I’ve previously used a Plugable dock to connect a few peripherals to my Mac, a mic, and so forth, but this solution is miles better. That includes 90W power delivery, so I’ve connected my 16-inch MacBook Pro via USB-C, and now have at my disposal a DisplayPort 1.4, 2 HDMI 2.0 slots, 4 USB 3.2 slots, another Thunderbolt 4 slot, audio out, and Ethernet LAN support of up to 1GB. You can use it as the hub of your desk, connecting any kind of MacBook or USB-C-capable PC and leveraging its massive array of ports to expand the compatibility of your Mac. ![]() This means that the Philips 27B1U7903 is not only a tremendous display, but a dock in disguise. In fact, it’s one of the world's first Thunderbolt 4 monitors with USB4 compliance. Just be sure to land your shots with this hand cannon, otherwise any SMG will light you up. In addition, with the Basilisk sidearm, you'll be able to move faster in tense situations. The ISO Hemlock is an absolute powerhouse in long ranged fights, able to keep up with many of the pre-existing greats. Our final recommended loadout is one that doesn't require an Overkill perk and still remains strong thanks to the ISO Hemlock - a major winner with the launch of Season 2 of Warzone. Lachmann Sub attachments Another legendary sub machine gun, well worth using. MCPR 300 attachments Incendiary rounds make this sniper an absolute beast. With the nerfs to the Fennec 45, it's a must use for those in love with close-range situations. For the close ranged option, we're sticking with the Lachmann Sub here. That being said, the MCPR gets the pick in this guide due to its relative ease of use. Vesnev 9K attachments A super great SMG in Warzone 2 with the season 2 changes.įor those who don't like an assault rifle primary, instead leaning towards a sniper rifle, this loadout fuffils your desire with the MCPR This weapon can one shot players now thanks to the pumped up incendiary rounds, as can many of the other powerful sniper rifles available. The Vasnev 9K covers up your close range fights, with a super fast fire rate and high damage. In long ranged fights, you can't go far astray with its massive damage and ease of handling. The RPK remains stupidly good, as it survived nerfs in spite of it's long standing dominance over season 1. The two guns that are damn good in Warzone season 2 are the RPK and the Vasnev-9K. Ultimately if you're a shotgun fiend and feel like you're not having as much fun without you favourite boom stick, slap it on and have a blast. Once Warzone season 2 drops, you'll be able to customise your own perk packages, so it'll be far less annoying to get the guns and perks you want.įinally, while we stand by these picks as the best weapons you can use in Warzone, don't feel bad about throwing in some alternative gun you like the feel of. If you want to get different perks later, you'll need to work for another loadout at either a buy station, a stronghold, and loadout drops. As such, we recommend taking a perk package with Overkill to get these at once. It's worth noting that for all of these loadouts, we've listed two primary weapons. You don't want to be stuck without an answer to up close and personal fights. All the featured weapons are decent enough to take you far in Warzone, just make sure you've covering all your bases when it comes to effective range. You can also mix and match if you're not feeling a certain weapon, or if you've not ground out all the necissary attachments for it yet. If you do prefer a pistol, rocket launcher, or even a melee weapon that's fine! Simply slot it into the short-range slot and you should be good to go. As such, all the following loadouts have this shared quality. Check out the trailer for Warzone 2 season 2 here! Warzone 2 best loadoutsĪs a general rule, it's a good idea to have one weapon for long-range fights, and one for shot range fights. |
